Brian Scrivener practices a multi-faceted
approach to constitutional homeopathy and manual
therapy at
Hands On Health Centre in Kamloops,
British Columbia. Brian is also a Certified Phoenix
Rising Yoga Therapy Practitioner, having completed
training in yoga philosophy, visual-intuitive
assessment of the energetic aspects of soul
embodied and the powerful use of specifically
selected, assisted and sustained asanas for releasing
soul issues from the body. His professional training
includes homeopathy with Louis Klein, craniosacral
therapy, Reiki, healing chi gong, and other subtle
manual-energy techniques. Trained in the Iyengar
yoga method in the 1980s in Vancouver, he took his
teacher training with Iyengar national certification
assessor Richard Schachtel in Seattle. He has been
inspired by workshops with such yoga luminaries as
Angela Farmer and Dona Holleman. His first inkling of
the fusion of spirit with movement in the physical
body came while studying contemporary dance with
Synergy, led by Linda Rubin, at the Western Front
Lodge in Vancouver during the mid-1970s. Brian also
has three decades' experience as a
book editor, is
former Editorial Director at Raincoast Books (the folks
who bring you Harry Potter in Canada) and is a
published author of two books. He has taught
writing and communication at Canadian universities,
and in workshops.
Claudia Scrivener holds a Masters degree in
Physical Therapy and is a Physiotherapist practising at
Hands On Health Centre in Kamloops, British
Columbia. Her professional focus is on manual therapy
with an emphasis on subtle energy work and
assessment skills. She also has expertise in chronic
pain management, pelvic floor pain and incontinence.
She has trained to Mastery level in Myofascial
Technique, and has studied Visceral Manipulation and
Lymphatic Drainage to an advanced level. She
nurtures a long-term interest in Homeopathy.
She studied Tai Chi, Reiki, Therapeutic Touch,  and
Internal Meditation Chi Gong in New York in the
1980s. Moving to B.C. in 1990 she trained in
One-Finger Pointing Zen (Healing) Chi Gong  to
mastery level, and in Bagua (Circle-Walking) Chi Gong.
Formerly Director of Clinical Studies at The West
Coast College of Massage Therapy, Claudia was an
author of the Accreditation Guidelines for the College
of Massage Therapists of British Columbia.
Claudia also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine
Arts from Bryn Mawr College and a Master's degree in
Preservation Architecture from the University of
Virginia. Having a lifelong passion for horses, she
practises Equine Physiotherapy and raises and trains
warmbloods at the Scriveners' Rock Haven Farm.
