taking your practice deeper, beneath emotion to the level of Soul.

Combining them optimizes the flow of subtle energies throughout the body,
invigorating you, and enhancing your constitutional health.

Sacred Body Yoga is not a pre-programmed, packaged approach to yoga.
Instead it creates a safe, supportive, meditative crucible which helps you to use
your yoga sadhana, or practice, to serve the current needs of your soul-in-body
in this moment.

Classes blend deeply held asanas (postures) with focused breathwork and
guided visualization to aid you in developing your deep awareness of being in
your own body.

Whether you are new to yoga or have an established practice, you will receive
clear, detailed guidance and encouragement in honing proper form in your
expression of the yoga asanas.
BRIAN SCRIVENER'S lifelong passion for Yoga has blossomed through more
than 20 years of practice and teaching. Trained in the Iyengar method with
Lindsay Whalen in the 1980s in Vancouver, he took his teacher training with
Iyengar national certification assessor Richard Schachtel in Seattle. He has
been inspired by workshops with such yoga luminaries as Angela Farmer and
Dona Holleman. His first inkling of the fusion of spirit with movement in the
physical body came while studying contemporary dance with Synergy, led by
Linda Rubin, at the Western Front Lodge in Vancouver during the mid-1970s.
When he lived in the Okanagan Brian was also Yoga Master to the nationally
acclaimed
Okanagan Rhythmic Gymnastics Club, led by the inspirational
Olympian Camille Martens.

A member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists, Brian is also a
Certified Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy Practitioner, having completed
training in yoga philosophy, visual-intuitive assessment of the energetic
aspects of soul embodied and the powerful use of specifically selected,
assisted and sustained asanas for releasing soul issues from the body.
Fusing his interests in the relationship between yoga, spirituality and the
subtle energies of the body, Brian has developed
Sacred Body Yoga.
