Reflexology & Chartered Herbalist
Reflexology is a healing art
that has come to us through the centuries. In
China reflexology has been used for
centuries to assist with stress, grief, worry,
overwork, anger and the balance of
emotions. Before the arrival of the Buddhist
monks the Chinese were using their own
form of foot therapy. Healers in North and
South America were known to work on
people's feet. In Egypt Mark Anthony once
worked on the feet of Cleopatra and a
famous pictograph on the tomb of a
physician Ankhmahor is said to depict a
reflexology session.

Reflexology is a gentle effective treatment. It
can help with aging, with memory, diabetes,
intestinal difficulties and more. It can help
with pain management, it can improve blood
flow, help in pregnancy, delivery, and
postpartum effects. It can help heal paralysis
of the face, aids with ADHD. The importance
of documenting the healing benefits of
reflexology has not been lost on professional
Reflexologists.

This You
-Tube link shows a reflexology
treatment for Oedema, and, you can actually
see it working.  .

A special study relates movement in specific
brain areas to reflexology. An fMRI study, that
took place at the University of Tohoku,
investigated three reflex areas relating to the
eye, shoulder and small intestine. As
pressure was applied to each reflex area, the
scientists were able to compare the fMRI
imaging against the known region of the
brain for each individual body part. The

There are 7,200 nerve endings in your foot.
These nerve endings affect various organs
and glands within the body. Pressure applied
on specific reflex points on the feet affects the
corresponding part of the body. Reflexology
proves stress can be reduced, life can be
improved, and ailments can be helped by the
proper application of the reflexology process.
Reflexology's major strength is in the relief of
stress. Today's patterns of living are creative
of stress. Medical research studies show
that more than 75% of all health problems
can be linked directly to stress.
